LUTON CARNIVAL COMMUNITIES

Carnival is about the whole community coming together to celebrate diversity! We want everyone to get involved: From coming along on the day, to designing a costume, to entering a competition, to sponsoring a float or a page on this site, everyone is welcome to get involved in Carnival, Luton is a vibrant, highly successful multi-cultural community - a rich diversity of different nationalities, cultures and ethnic backgrounds.

What carnival offers?
Carnival arts offers all of us a dynamic tool for self-expression and exploration, a tool to seek out our roots, a tool to develop new forms of looking at the world and its cultures, and finally, a tool to unite the ow spworld, to discover what we all have in common, and to celebrate what makes us different. The power and creativity that underlies these art forms can transform lives. Join hands with All Ah We, and together we will dance the song of life!

Luton carnival Arts Development Trust

Established in 1998, through lottery funding via the Arts Council of England, the Trust extended the excellent track record of carnival in Luton through a two year programme of training initiatives, education work, neighbourhood arts development and new commissions that lead to the Luton Young People's Carnival for the Millennium. European funding followed, which allows the Trust to extend its work in other areas across Luton.

The Trust is committed to training individuals and organisations in the disciplines of carnival arts - mas making, stilt walking, steel pan as well as to establishing the UK's first dedicated centre for Carnival Arts in Luton.
